Flight of the Ravens 3 - Sally Fitts
Drawing is my thing.
As a child I drew. But, for more than twenty years I put aside my creative self, and instead, followed a conventional path to a career in computer design with a side helping of motherhood.
On coming to my senses, I bought myself some pencils and paint, and completed a Diploma of Visual Arts (2003), and an Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts (2006) at Brougham Art School in Geelong.
I have enjoyed working in many different mediums including painting, collage and sculpture, with drawing always at the core of my practice.
The subject matter I choose to focus on at any time varies according to my interests,
concerns and curiosities.
I have been a selected entrant in the Wyndham Art Prize, the Rick Amor Drawing Prize, an invited artist for the Kedumba Drawing Award, a selected artist in the Toyota Sculpture14 Award, the Flanagan and Hutchins Art Prizes, and the Swan Hill Print & Drawing Prize.
I am grateful for my solo exhibition experience, given the opportunity it has provided
to challenge myself to produce collections of work, and to create immersive experiences for the viewer. Included in my solo exhibitions are those at Sofitel gallery and 45 Downstairs in Melbourne.
I also write poetry.
Once sold, artwork can be collected from Hoop Gallery on Sunday 25th October 2026 from 3pm - 6pm
