Hoop Gallery Exhibition and Programs Co-ordinator
Engagement: Contractor, Hourly rate $35 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible, in consultation with committee)
Role Description
About Hoop Gallery
Hoop Gallery provides an affordable, supportive venue for exhibitions and workshops,
showcasing artists from the Surf Coast and beyond. We aim to deliver experiences for
diverse audiences and support both emerging and established artists, enriching the local
arts community.
The Exhibition and Programs Co-ordinator manages day-to-day gallery operations, liaises
with artists and the Committee, implements the exhibition and events calendar, maintains
the space, and supports exhibition artists. The role requires someone organised, flexible,
and dynamic, with the ability to establish Hoop Gallery as a key cultural hub.
Key Responsibilities

Liaise with artists regarding exhibition documentation, scheduling, and promotion

Conduct artist briefings and assist with exhibition installations where required

Maintain the gallery space and basic equipment

Build positive relationships with key stakeholders

Organise openings, public programs (artist talks, panels), and members events

Promote the gallery via social media, media releases and maintain brand excellence

Maintain and update SCAS website

Collect visitor feedback and prepare a monthly report

Support fundraising and grant opportunities as feasible within hours.

Reporting: Reports to the Surf Coast Art Space Inc. Committee
Who We’re Looking For

Organised and reliable, able to manage multiple small projects efficiently

Strong communicator, confident liaising with artists, community members, and partners

Creative and enthusiastic, with a passion for arts and culture

Flexible and practical, able to problem-solve and support gallery events as needed
-
Team-oriented, positive, and willing to pitch in where required.
