About HOOP Gallery
Hoop Gallery is a not-for-profit art gallery located in Torquay on the Surf Coast of Victoria, Australia. The Gallery is managed by Surf Coast Art Space (SCAS) Inc, a community organisation that supports local artists by providing a platform for them to showcase and sell their work.

The gallery promotes contemporary art and creates opportunities for emerging and established artists to connect with local and visiting audiences.

In our calendar of monthly exhibitions, we celebrate a diverse range of art forms, including painting, photography and digital media, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media as well as experimental art forms.

The gallery also delivers art workshops, talks and events for the community to engage with art and artists.
With its prime location on the Surf Coast, Hoop Gallery makes a valuable contribution to Victoria’s vibrant art scene.

The Space
Hoop Gallery is regional Victoria’s largest and newest community-run gallery, located in the Multi- Arts Centre (MAC) Torquay.
The MAC is undergoing a $1.4M renovation to upgrade the Gallery and Theatre into a modern facility to serve the visual and performing arts communities.
Once works are completed in July 2025, Hoop Gallery will emerge as a volumetric gallery of 200 square metres with 8 metre high ceilings, providing much potential for artistic expression.

With this amazing artistic space brought into realisation by our wonderful team of volunteers, we seek collaborations to realise our vision statement.
Our vision
“We are more than a gallery... we are a creative destination for inspiration and innovation.”

HOOP Gallery, SCAS Inc and the artists we represent work on the traditional lands of the Wadawurrung and Eastern Maar people.
We acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners and Protectors of this place. We acknowledge their ancestors who cared for the land, rivers
and sea – and all of its creatures – for thousands of generations. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future who continue on this path.
