In the landscape we find familiarity, while painted is an amalgamation of coastal trails, it feels like a place we’ve been before.
A Heron stands in the afternoon chill preening its feathers, aware but not at all shaken by the oncoming weather. Speaking to the strength but utmost grace in natures preparation in the face of change.
Using impressionistic brush strokes among precise, sharp details; the eye is drawn to the subject and carried off into the background where bright colours bat away the moody undertones.
White-faced Heron - Georgia Bartlett
My name is Georgia Bartlett. I am a full time painter, illustrator, and tattooist from the Greater Geelong region, currently a resident at Newtown Art Studio on Pakington St.
My inspiration is often found in nature, particularly birdlife, however I derive my most passionate work from experiences that move me emotionally, aiming to capture these moments in the canvas. Passionately striving to capture raw and moving scenes in honest strokes and dramatic lighting.
