“Shifting Sands” inspiration evolved from daily walks along the beach and noting the transient beauty of natures’ constant evolution.
The subtle shifts in light and tone and change with the passing of each season.
One day the smooth sand with not a ripple, then the next, barely being able to walk through the rushing stream that formed the erosion and shift in place.
A constant fascination of the seasonal shifts.
The work is painted on 600gsm, hot press Fabriano watercolour paper.
Windsor & Newton artist watercolours were used.
The watercolour is floated in the frame and non reflective gallery glass was used .

Pats’ artistic journey began seriously after moving to live on The Glen Farm where her studio is surrounded by cattle, horses, kangaroos, wild duck, echidna & koala. Surrounded by National Park and only 5 minutes from the famous Great Ocean Road, there is much inspiration.
With no formal qualifications, she has learnt her craft from professional tutors in all mediums along her journey.
She particularly enjoys painting the ocean beaches and the effects the weather and tides produce.
Pat also finds the forest in the Great Otway National Park a rewarding challenge.
She has exhibited in many solo exhibitions at the Victorian Artist Society, Wintergarden in Geelong and Eagles Nest Fine Art Gallery.
She has been a finalist in the ANL maritime Mission to Seafarers Maritime Prize for 6 years and has exhibited in the Surf coast Arts Trail since its inception.
Many of her paintings are now hanging in private collections both in Australia & Internationally . Many commissions have been completed including portraiture.
Pat is past President of the Anglesea Art House & Treasurer for 8 years.
She presently tutors in watercolour in Torquay, tutored many weekend workshops and painting tours in Fji and in Turkey 2026.
